Melanie is a second generation real estate executive who took over the helm in 1988 from her mother, Lila, who founded Lila Delman Real Estate in 1964. Under Melanie’s leadership, the company has grown dramatically. Lila Delman Real Estate has expanded to four offices: Watch Hill, Narragansett, Newport, and Jamestown. Recently Melanie located and purchased a jewel of a building designed by George Champlin Mason & Sons. This newly restored historic brick building, located at the corner of Memorial Boulevard and Bellevue Avenue, now serves as our Newport office. For its renovation, Lila Delman has been awarded the first Doris Duke Award for Historic Preservation. Melanie, who has sold more multi million dollar properties in the state than any other realtor, has been recognized by Christie’s Great Estates with the selection of Lila Delman Real Estate as the exclusive Christie’s Great Estates affiliate for Newport County. The Melanie Delman Team was recently honored as the Number 1 Top Producing Team by the Kent Washington Association of Realtors for total Dollar Value Sold in 2009. In addition, as the leaders in the luxury field, Melanie and Robin Nicholson have achieved the highest priced sale in Rhode Island in each year from 2007 to 2010 to date. Melanie’s attention to detail and her vast experience in the high end market have earned her a reputation that is unsurpassed.
