Lila Delman Real Estate Attends ICCUSA Event

Sir Michael Smurfit, Irish paper and packaging magnate, knighted for services to British business, and better known as the man who brought the Ryder Cup to Ireland in 2006, hosted the 2008 Ireland Chamber - United States (ICCUSA) event at his prestigious K Club in Straffan, Co. Kildare, Ireland. 

"The role of the Ireland Chamber-United States is to actively promote business interests of members and the development of economic, commercial, financial and educational relationships between the United States and Ireland," Said Catherine Gazder, International Fine Properties Liaison, Lila Delman Real Estate, Newport, Rhode Island, USA. Gazder, a native of Ireland attended, promoting Newport, Rhode Island and the Carnegie Abbey Club, owned by Mr. Brian O'Neill.

The evening began with ICCUSA's president Maurice Buckley offering a gracious welcome to the guest speaker, Kathleen Kennedy Townsend.  Kennedy Townsend is the former lieutenant governor of Maryland, former deputy assistant attorney general of the US, and chairman of the Robert F Kennedy Memorial.  She greatly impressed the audience with an impassioned and insightful speech regarding the upcoming United States presidential election, including some thoughtful comments about her father, Robert F Kennedy.

The event consisted of a round of golf on the Palmer-designed course for nearly 50 guests, subsequently leading to the highlight of the evening-a private dinner for over 100 guests.
