Make a List

I am a list maker - mostly a To Do list maker. Anyone else out there that suffers from this affliction will know exactly what I am talking about.

All these things that have to be done are all bouncing around inside my head! When I write them down in a neat and orderly list, I feel so much better. It is much more manageable.

The best part is crossing off stuff. But I am getting ahead of myself.

I make lists for everything - household chores, shopping trips, work mostly, phone calls, projects, e-mails, you name it. Mostly everything is list-able. But I have to warn you that once you start, it is hard to stop.

There are a couple of rules to my list making, too - I have to write them in pencil ( no reason I just like it better) and it is fair game to write something I already did so I can cross it off right away.

I also have my clients and customers make lists, too - I have the sellers make lists of features in their homes and tradesmen they have used and buyers make lists of things they are looking for in a home, I find that they are happy to do it - everyone likes lists!

I could actually go on and on about this but I think that in this case less is more. All I know is it keeps me organized and alleviates some anxiety. Any other list makers out there? Hello??

This may sounds silly, but I have trouble deciding where to put my lists. Should work lists be on the same notebook as shopping lists and home repair lists? Different notebooks or just different pages? How do you like to keep yours?

There's nothing like a nice, fresh piece of notebook paper but some of my best work has been done on the back of old envelopes!

What a cute blog! If I lose my list, I am totally boggled.

I thought I was the only one with list addiction...not just one - many. Separate notebooks with house stuff, a work notebook, and the ever present crumpled little piece of paper I carry with me everywhere to jot down tasks that come up throughout my day.

I love my lists! Each day I leave the crossed off tasks behind and move the current "to dos" to the new days blank sheet of paper.

Flipping through the old lists gives me tangible evidence of all I get done! It is a great feeling.

I am so relieved to hear I am not the only one!! I am such a list maker too. I have to make one daily and many times I carry over chores from the previous day. Actually, that happens almost everytime I make a list.
Oh...I know what you mean about the feeling you get when you cross one task off! Such an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment. The other day I actually finished a list. It was a short one but that counts!!!

Lists! They help me stay sane/focused. I carry them everywhere, checking off items is addictive!

My business is rehabbing distressed properties adding tons of value quickly. Boy do I have lists. With a company like "CURB APPEAL" there's always something to do--paul marshall/wickford
