NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WPRI) - Despite a sluggish economy vacation getaways are still hot commodities.
From the surf to the sand the Ocean State is notorious for its beautiful summer months. And despite tough economic times, Rhode Island's summer rental business is thriving.
At Lila Delman Real Estate in Narragansett numbers are down about ten percent compared to last year. A pleasant surprise to rental agents who say with late bookings they expect to break even or beat summer 2008 figures.
We were a little worried this year, but were feeling pretty confident well make a go at it this season.
Many renters are searching last-minute deals as well as amenities like full kitchens and internet to create the perfect stay-cation.
Agents say they're also seeing more local clients this summer.
