| Carnegie Abbey on Narragansett Bay – Newport, Rhode Island |
Carnegie Abbey is an exclusive international Private club of limited membership, reflecting a unique lifestyle and camaraderie, which far transcends the normal club experience. While providing one of the world’s finest Scottish style Championship golf courses, our members can also enjoy sailing, fishing, tennis, horse riding, spa and relaxation within an exceptional environment of luxury and informality.
Carnegie Abbey, set only six miles from Historic Newport, RI, has a rich history dating back to the Narragansett Indians. Early English settlers were drawn to this land and in colonial times agriculture, shipping and commerce flourished. The Battle of Rhode Island took place on the golf course land and is remembered by the golf hole names of “Bloody Run Brook, “ “Patriot’s Stand” and “Hessian’s Hole,” the latter being a mass grave of mercenaries who lost their lives at the hands of the Colonial Forces. A Benedictine Monastery was founded in the early 1900’s as part of the English Congregation and remains today as the owner and steward of the surrounding lands.
Today at Carnegie Abbey relaxation is taken quite seriously. The Spa offers a wide range of treatments. The golf course combined with the ever-present southwesterly breezes and the firm and fast running greens and fairways presents golfers with one of the worlds special places to play this “royal and ancient” game. The Abbey also offers fishing in the ponds or ocean, wildlife which can be enjoyed on foot or on horseback and access to some of the best sailing in the world.

The Concession Golf Club & Residences
Bradenton, Florida |
On the final hole of the 1969 Ryder Cup, Jack Nicklaus stunned the golf world by conceding a two-foot putt to Tony Jacklin, for the only tie in history. That feat has inspired one of America’s greatest new residential country clubs, The Concession Golf Club & Residences, located on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Here, amid ancient oak hammocks, only 236 estate-style homes will grace the more than 1,200 acres. This extraordinarily private community will be a worthy complement to the unique experience of The Concession Golf Club and its Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.
Opened in January 2006, the course was named “Best New Private Course of 2006” by Golf Digest. The magazine also rated the course fifth in the state of Florida for golf architecture for 2007–2008. The 18-hole par-72 course is set on 520 acres of rugged pristine land and totals 7,270 yards. It is one of only two clubs in the country that features the Advanced Aer system—computerized sensors triggering water or air as needed—under all 18 greens guaranteeing tournament-quality play conditions year ’round.
The community contains two single-family neighborhoods—Birkdale and Lindrick. Both present a rare opportunity to build a one-of-a-kind masterpiece home on sites ranging from one-half acre to almost two full acres. Owners can select from seven award-winning master builders, each with a reputation for uncompromised quality and outstanding craftsmanship in the luxury home market. Homeowners may apply for club membership.
